ASW/LCSW Needed

We provide long-term depth therapy and are not a fit for those looking to provide short-term CBT.
Job Description:
- This position is currently remote however the practice location is in Berkeley, CA and the candidate will need to be able to commute for in person work in the future.
- Candidates must be able to quickly learn the electronic health records program.
- Must be organized, accurate and very timely in record keeping.
- The right applicant is interested and comfortable with focusing on patient feeling and learning to stay with a patient’s inner emotional experiences.

- Educated and sensitive to differences in culture, socio-economics, neurodiversity and the LGTBQ community.
- Ability to adapt clinical style to patients needs
- Applicants who interested in Relational, trauma focused depth work are encouraged to apply.
- An open communication style and the ability to be unafraid of asking questions in supervision is essential.
- Seeking candidates with strong rapport building skills.
- The candidate will be expected within the 90 day probationary period to achieve high patient retention.
- Ability to set his/ her/ their own schedule for patient apts. Must be available t/th mornings for supervision and intakes.
- The candidate can provide individual, couples, and group therapy based upon personal interest. There is a steady referral stream from UC Berkeley students (graduates and undergraduates) however the practice is independent of the University.
- All overhead such as billing, EHR and administrative management is covered by the practice.
- The right candidate for this position has experience and a commitment to already being in your own personal therapy as well as an intention for ongoing self growth and learning. After the introductory period, the practice will contribute a wellness stipend towards the candidate’s therapy expenses We are looking for candidates who already have been in their own therapy.
- All ASW sessions are HIPPA compliant video recorded for the supervisor to review for clinical training purposes.
- This position has a slow onboarding process to ensure goodness of fit. For the first 3 months the patient load is capped at a maximum of 10 patients although patients may be seen multiple times a week.
- After the probationary period the caseload for pre-licensed clinicians requires 20 clients per week with two hours of supervision and monthly staff meetings. For some newer clinicians this can be demanding.
- This position is not a fit for someone looking for short term supervision, brief therapy, or an addictions-focused practice.
- We are looking for someone to join our practice who wants to grow with us and are looking for a minimum of a two year commitment.

~~RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledgeable about the NASW code of ethics and ability to uphold practice standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
- Ability to ask questions and come to supervision prepared to discuss clinical case concerns including how to assess the critical needs of clients, and create an appropriate treatment plan.
- Create and maintain all appropriate client records in a timely manner.
- Provide timely and appropriate clinical response during crisis intervention situations with follow up documentation and safety plan.
- Provide accurate assessment and referral when appropriate.
- Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, and professionalism.
- Exercise awareness in cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety of staff and clients.
–Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications – Master’s Degree in Social Work (preferred) or equivalent from a top-tier school.
- Licensed with the appropriate body for the State of California as a registered ASW or equivalent intern working towards full licensure hours.
- Ability to perform assessments, individual treatment plans, crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, case management, referral, and discharge summaries, timely, cogent legally valid clinical documentation required. This includes the ability to learn our electronic health record system quickly and to provide timely documentation within each work day. Employees should understand how to write SOAP notes for each session.
- Home office requirements for teletherapy include: appropriate private space to conduct therapy sessions, reliable high speed WiFi
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and to collaborate with patients and other care providers.
- Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families.
- Must pass all applicable health, fingerprint/Live Scan
- Must be computer literate and able to quickly learn necessary computer programs utilized for patient records and billing.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus and may be eligible for additional salary.
- Strong knowledge of and adherence to professional ethics and a native understanding of strong boundaries are required.
Compensation:
-Pay is set by insurance reimbursement at $56.89 per hour for insurance patients or 45% take home for market rate cash pay patients ( a typical fee for a cash pay new associate is billed at $72 for take home pay).
-Licensed applicant rate and fee split will be based upon experience and employment status (ft/pt/contractor).
-All employees including part time workers receive 40 hours of paid sick leave per year.
-Full and Part time Licensed applicants receive Paid Time Off up to 1 month per year.
– Full time employees (both licensed and pre-licensed) are eligible for full benefits
