Depth Oriented Psychotherapist (ASW Preferred) – Join Our Growing Practice

About Us: Belonging Partnership sources talented early-career clinicians from marginalized communities to provide identity-affirming care while receiving hands-on training. Our founder, a social worker and contemporary psychoanalyst, provides clinical supervision with a psychodynamic and trauma-informed lens.

About the Role:

  • Hybrid Position: Remote for now, with future in-person work in Berkeley, CA.
  • Training & Supervision: Weekly video-reviewed supervision and mentorship.
  • Clientele: Bright, diverse UC Berkeley undergrad and grad students and a broader community of adult and teen patients typically with anxiety depression, and trauma.
  • Caseload: Gradual onboarding 10 clients for the first 3 months, increasing to a minimum of 20 client contacts per week for pre-licensed clinicians.
  • Schedule: Flexible, but availability for Tuesday/Thursday morning supervision
  • Uunparralled clinical training, the founder gives notes on your recorded sessions

Requirements:

  • ASW (or equivalent) registered with CA BBS. LCSW also welcome.
  • Passed CA Law & Ethics exam within 6 months of hire.
  • Private home office for teletherapy.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, or Mandarin, or Cantonese) is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $57 – $150/hour based on experience.
  • 40 hours of paid sick leave per year.
  • PTO for licensed & part-time clinicians; full-time employees eligible for full benefits.
  • Full time eligible for full benefits including health insurance.

~~RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Knowledgeable about the NASW code of ethics and ability to uphold practice standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.
  2. Ability to ask questions and come to supervision prepared to discuss clinical case concerns including how to assess the critical needs of clients, and create an appropriate treatment plan.
  3. Create and maintain all appropriate client records in a timely manner.
  4. Provide timely and appropriate clinical response during crisis intervention situations with follow up documentation and safety plan.
  5. Provide accurate assessment and referral when appropriate.
  6. Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, and professionalism.
  7. Exercise awareness in cultural competency, client satisfaction, quality of services, client needs, and overall health and safety of staff and clients.

–Qualifications

  1. Minimum Qualifications – Master’s Degree in Social Work (preferred) or equivalent from a top-tier school.
  2. Licensed with the appropriate body for the State of California as a registered ASW or equivalent intern working towards full licensure hours.
  3. Ability to perform assessments, individual treatment plans, crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, case management, referral, and discharge summaries, timely, cogent legally valid clinical documentation required. This includes the ability to learn our electronic health record system quickly and to provide timely documentation within each work day. Employee should understand how to write SOAP notes for each session.
  4. Home office requirements for teletherapy include: appropriate private space to conduct therapy sessions, reliable high speed WiFi
  5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers supervisor and to collaborate with patients other care providers.
  6. Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families.
  7. Must pass all applicable health, fingerprint/Live Scan
  8. Must be computer literate and able to quickly learn necessary computer programs utilized for patient records and billing.
  9. Strong knowledge of and adherence to professional ethics and a native understanding of strong boundaries are required.
